Fun and Fast Baby

Well no prizes for guessing who this baby card is for......we were lucky enough to have a new nephew arrive earlier in the year....and, well, I am a lot behind on sending official congratulation wishes, but at least now all I have to do is organise an envelope! ;)

I made this after I had been CASING a few cards, so it was nice to finally make something of my own.
Stamp Set: Fun and Fast Notes, Jumbo Outline Alphabet, Short and Sweet.
Colours: Bashful Blue and Whisper White.
Accessories: Stamp-a-majig, Brads, 1/4" Grossgrain Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Round Tab Punch, Sponge Dauber.

Fun and Fast Bird

Today's card was totally inspired/CASED from Alisa Tilsner's Blog. I really loved the colours, although I didn't have any Kiwi Kiss at the time, so went with Old Olive, and then just used the only bird stamp that I had! :) I was also just getting going on making cards again at the time, so this was a simple one to copy and enjoy making.

Colours: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Rose Red and Whisper White.
Stamp Set: Fun and Fast Notes.
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, 1/4" Old Olive Grossgrain Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Rose Red Brad. Stampin' Up! Markers, in same colours as cardstock, for hand colouring the stamps, and Blender Pen for colouring in.

Fun & Fast mini pizza box

The last project that we made at the workshop was a mini pizza box. There is a great tutorial here on Splitcoaststampers, and you can really go to town decorating this box, depending on the occasion you are using it for. I kept this fairly simple for the workshop, and using the Fun and Fast stamp set the ladies were able to choose the occasion to stamp on the top ....mine uses the Christmas Tree, and, for example, the baby pram was also popular, with the box being a perfect size for booties or a bib, and the colours we used seemed to lend themselves to any theme.

The pizza box measures approx 4"x4" and 1"deep. We also used the Scallop Edge Punch to make the medallion on the top, as well as the new Oval All stamp set and co-ordinating Scallop Oval punch from the Spring Mini catalogue.

Colours: Very Vanilla, So Saffron and Elegant Eggplant.

Next time I'll show you another card using this set, and I've also posted this card which uses the hedgehog and the co-ordinating Fast Flowers Wheel.

Have a great day.

...a few more Season of Joy samples....

This card uses Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy....along with the sentiment from the Level 2 Hostess set called Occasions for All. The tree is cut out and mounted with Dimensionals. I've also used the Round Tab Punch and 1/4" Grossgrain ribbon in Bravo Burgundy.
This next sample was a nice simple CASE from Victoria Mary on Splitcoaststampers. It uses Real Red, Handsome Hunter and Whisper White and is DL size.

My last sample was inspired by Elise17 on Splitcoaststampers.
It uses Mellow Moss, Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla and some Linen Thread.

Next time I'll share our 3D project from the workshop which was a mini pizza box.

Season of Joy

I recently did a Christmas themed workshop with a lovely group of ladies out Katandra way...... I decided to mainly concentrate on one stamp set, and thanks to one of my SIL's, Moira, was able to borrow the Season of Joy set. Personally, I've been trying to resist investing in a Christmas set, as I haven't had much success in organising myself to send Christmas Cards out over the last few years..between babies, cows, the drought and thinking I can get myself organised in December, I have found myself leaving it all too late...but am very tempted now after having some fun with this set....I would just have to get myself organised in the next few weeks.......

Anyway, here is what the set includes....page 31 of the Ideas Book and Catalogue.

The first card we made was cased from a card I found on Nancy Riley's blog, iStamp, which you can see here. When I started making these samples, I really needed some cards to copy to get me going, and blog hopping is a great way to find some inspiration....I was lucky to have found Nancy's blog, and it is one that I visit regularly now.

We ended up using the 1/4 inch grossgrain ribbon, rather than the 5/8" that I used here, with some using green and some using red, and most of the ladies left the sentiment off, leaving it free to use for an occasion other than Christmas.
Colours: Real Red, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Basic Black.

The second card we made involved colouring the large multi sentiment stamp with markers. This one I found inspiration in the Splitcoaststampers gallery, here, in amongst many (like over 2000) great cards using this stamp set....so if you have this stamp set or are thinking that you might like it, and are looking for ideas, try the Splitcoaststamper Season of Joy Gallery

Colours: Elegant Eggplant, Rose Red, Old Olive, Whisper White.

I'll be back later with some more samples to share with you.....

This one brings back memories of a Blue Lagoon...those days seem so long ago! ;) This toast may go on for a few blog posts, as I have a few more Cheers to You cards to share..... So here I am........

starting a blog. I can see a steep learning curve ahead, as I learn the tricks of the blogging world....but one that so far is looking like fun.

I enjoy reading other paper crafters blogs, and am hoping to use this as my place to share some of my creations and hopefully inspire my readers to create as well. I also want to prove to myself that I am not just a collector of paper crafting tools, but that I use them as well! ;)

So this will be a great place to share some of the things I'm making, and I look forward to using some of the great sketch and colour challenges that lots of great paper crafters share on their blogs each week as my inspiration.
